In the West Bank, Israeli forces arrested 6 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Ramallah, Jenin, Tubas, and Hebron. In East Jerusalem, 2 employees of the Islamic Waqf were released after being arrested; they were both banned from the Haram al-Sharif compound for 15 days. Israeli minister of agriculture Uri Ariel toured the Haram al-Sharif compound with a group of Israeli settlers. The Israeli high court of justice rejected a petition to bar the Israeli Jerusalem Day flag march from walking through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City. The petition was filed by Ir Amim and argued that since the day of the flag march coincides with the final days of the Ramadan, it should not be passing through the Muslim Quarter. (HA 5/21)

The White House reported that the economic component of the U.S. president Donald Trump’s peace plan will be released in late June at an international summit in Bahrain. The summit will be named Peace to Prosperity. (AJ, HA 5/19)
