In the West Bank, Israeli forces razed 5 dunams (1.2 acres) of land and demolished an agricultural shack in Tarqumiyya; razed 50 dunams (12 acres) of land east of Salfit; and destroyed a water piping system in Jiftlik. Israeli settlers attacked 5 Palestinian shepherds in al-Mughayyir; 3 of the victims needed medical attention for the injuries. 4 Palestinians were arrested during raids in and around Ramallah, al-Bireh, Hebron, and Qalqilya. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces raided the offices of the Palestinian organization Volunteer for Hope in Bayt Hanina, seizing 4 computers, and summoned its director for questioning. Separately, 3 Palestinians were arrested. In Gaza, Israeli forces made incursions to raze agricultural lands north of Bayt Lahiya. Israel’s transportation ministry said it had approved a 2-mile tunnel extending the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem high-speed railway to the Western Wall. The Jordanian foreign ministry called the plan a “fragrant violation of international law.” (BBC 2/18)
