In the West Bank, after a rise in COVID-19 cases in the Nablus district, the governor or Nablus ordered a number of businesses and buildings to close, including mosques and churches. 10 Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces during the weekly anti-settlement protest in Kafr Qaddum, including 2 by live ammunition and 8 by rubber-coated bullets. Israeli forces also violently dispersed protesters in al-Bireh, leading to tear-gas related injuries. Israeli settlers attacked 1 Palestinian minor outside al-Khadir; the minor was treated at a hospital for his injuries. 7 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in and around Tulkarm, Jenin, and Qabatiya. 3 top democrats in the U.S. Senate, Ben Cardin (D-MD), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), released a joint statement against Israeli annexation of parts the West Bank, saying that such a move would undermine U.S. national security interests in the region, and called for a 2-state solution.
