Clashes are sparked when Jews observing Yom Kippur (when all traffic in Israel’s Jewish population centers halts) attack an Israeli Palestinian family driving through a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, believing that they are deliberately breaking the sanctity of the holy day. Though the family is only lightly injured, rumors quickly spread through Arab areas of Acre that 1 was killed.
