In Tel Aviv, Israeli employees of Israel Railways denied an Israeli woman entry to the train platform because she was wearing a t-shirt from the organization Looking the Occupation in the Eye. PA prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said during a cabinet meeting that the PA had only received 10% of the usual contributions to its economy that it receives from foreign donors, leading to a very difficult financial situation. UNRWA commissioner-general Philippe Lazzarini said that the agency is facing an “existential” budget crisis and currently needs $120 million to keep running its education and health care service. Commissioner-General Lazzarini said that many donors had decreased their funding due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on their economies.
