In the West Bank, Israeli settlers stole Palestinian-owned olive crops in al-Jaba‘. Israeli settlers also attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in Burqa, injuring 2; the settlers also attacked an Israeli news crew that was in the area covering the olive harvest. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in Ni‘lin, injuring 1 and stealing olive-harvesting equipment. Israeli settlers also fenced off Palestinian-owned land in preparation to make a new settlement outpost in Kisan. Israeli forces delivered stop-work notices for 4 agricultural sheds in al-Khadir. Israeli forces also seized 1 road grader owned by the municipality of al-Zawiya as it was working to refurbish a rural road. 8 Palestinians were arrested during late-night raids in Qaddura refugee camp, Bayt Liqya, Jalazun refugee camp, Tulkarm, and Kafr Qaddum; during the raid in Qaddura refugee camp, Israeli forces clashed with Palestinians; no injuries were reported. Israeli authorities alleged that the men had thrown stones at Israeli settler vehicles. Israeli forces and Palestinians clashed after Israeli forces raided Burin; tear-gas related injuries were reported. PA prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh announced new measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus, including banning movement between governorates; banning all unnecessary movement outside of homes; and forbidding workers in Israeli settlements from going to work. Israeli forces demolished a water well in al-Zawiya and delivered demolition orders for 4 residential structures near Jenin. In East Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court ruled to evict 26 Palestinians from their family home in Silwan. It was the 2d ruling this week in which Palestinians were ordered evicted based on claims that their homes were built on land that was owned by Jews prior to 1948. In Gaza, for the 2d day in a row, Israeli forces struck targets in Gaza, causing damage, after alleging that incendiary balloons were launched at Israel. 2 days before U.S. president Donald Trump was to unveil the U.S. peace plan, Israeli defense minister Naftali Bennet said, doing a speech at West Bank settlement, that “In no case, under no condition, will we allow for the establishment of a Palestinian state or recognition of such a state and we will not relinquish a single centimeter of the land of Israel to Arabs.” (HA 1/26)
