In the West Bank, Israeli forces shot and injured 1 Palestinian using live ammunition during a raid in Faqqua. Israeli forces also delivered a stop-work order for 1 residential structure, 1 agricultural structure, and 1 water well near Hebron. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces violently dispersed Palestinians at the Damascus Gate plaza, for the 3d day in a row, arresting and assaulting 9 Palestinians. The PA, Jordan, Egypt, and the OIC criticized Israel for violently dispersing Palestinians in East Jerusalem and restricting Palestinians’ access to the Haram al-Sharif compound during the 1st weekend of the month of Ramadan. (HA, WAFA 4/4)

The PA health ministry released a report on Israeli forces’ attacks on Palestinians in 2021. The report said that 355 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces and more than 16,500 were injured. 265 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, mainly in May 2021, and 90 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. 87 of the Palestinians killed by Israel in 2021 were children. Japan’s Social Development Fund announced a $2.4 million grant to help improve the Palestinian Heritage Trail in the West Bank. The project is aimed at improving the Palestinian economy through tourism opportunities. (WAFA 4/4; ALM 4/5)
