44-year-old Palestinian prisoner Anwar Esleem from Gaza dies at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba after being transferred there from the Naqab Prison. The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs say another prisoner Sameeh Eleiwi, 61, died on 11/6 after being transferred from the Ramle prison clinic to the Shamir Medical Center. Sky News reports, based on testimonies given to HaMoked, that Dr Adnan al-Bursh may have been raped to death at the Ofer Prison in the middle of April. The UN Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories says in a report covering October 2023 to July 2024 that Israeli warfare practices in Gaza “are consistent with the characteristics of genocide.” The report says Israel is using starvation as a method of war, inflicting collective punishment on the Palestinian people, ignored binding orders and resolutions from the ICJ and UN Security Council, and uses AI-assisted targeting with little human oversight in disregard of its obligation to distinguish between civilians and combatants.
