Gaza City. None of the above incidents lead to damage or injuries. In the West Bank, IDF troops clash with stone-throwing Palestinians in Nablus; 3 Palestinians are injured. Israeli forces shut down a major road nr. Ramallah and keep the Beit El checkpoint closed for a 2d straight day. A Palestinian driver crashes her vehicle into an Israeli police car nr. Jerusalem; 3 Israelis and 1 Palestinian are injured. The IDF calls it a ramming attack, but it’s unclear whether the collision was intentional. Meanwhile, the IDF arrests 1 Palestinian during a late-night raid nr. Tulkarm, and patrols during the day nr. Nablus, Salfit, Hebron, and Ramallah. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces enter Shu‘fat r.c. to issue fines to shopkeepers, sparking clashes with stone-throwing Palestinian youths; there are no serious injuries. In its first official statement in response to Israeli settlement announcements, Donald Trump’s White House says that “while we don’t believe the existence of settlements is an impediment to peace, the construction of new settlements or the expansion of existing settlements beyond their current borders may not be helpful in achieving that goal”.
