Occupied Palestine/Israel: Palestinian suspected of collaborating with Israeli authorities is found dead in Gaza's Khan Yunis camp [WP 12/30].

IDF declares Ramallah and al-Bireh closed military zones. 2 houses, 1 in Litwana village near Hebron and 1 in Gaza City, are destroyed [FBIS 12/29].

Occupied Palestine/lIsrael: In an article in Ma'ariv, Israeli Justice Minister Dan Meridor says since the outbreak of the intifada 600 Palestinians have been killed, 350 houses demolished, over 10,000 Palestinians wounded, over 40,000 placed under detention, and 60 deported [FBIS 11/17].

Other Countries: PLO officials meet with Israeli Knesset members in Milan, Italy to discuss Israeli-Palestinian peace opportunities [FJ 11/27].

According to Ma'ariv, U.S. officials claim Israel Aircraft Industries was involved in attempts to smuggle U.S. missile navigation equipment to South Africa in violation of U.S. law [FBIS 11/20].

Occupied Palestine/lIsrael: IDF declares Ramallah and al-Bireh closed military zones [FJ 11/27].

Incidents in the Nur Shams and Tulkarm camps leave 2 Palestinians wounded from IDF gunfire. At least 8 others wounded in O.T. [FBIS 11/20].

Arab World: Citing PLO sources, Associated Press reports that about 200 dissident members of Abu Nidal organization were recently killed in liquidation campaign in Libya. 300 more fled to Algeria, Tunisia, and Lebanon [FBIS 11/17].

Occupied Palestine/Israel: Israeli peace activist Abie Nathan is sentenced to six months in prison for meeting last year with Yasir Arafat [NYT, WP 10/4; MET 10/10; JP 10/14].

Arab World: Syrian official condemns proposals for elections in O.T., claiming they would not lead to independence for Palestinians [WP 10/4].

Occupied Palestine/Israel: 16 W. Bank Palestinians are arrested for flying Palestine flags. Israeli court sentences 2 Palestinians to 6 years, 30 months, respectively, for membership in organizations. At least 18 Palestinians are wounded throughout O.T. [FBIS 10/3]. IDF soldier is wounded by rock in E. Jerusalem [FBIS 10/4].

Occupied Palestine/lsrael: Israel asks U.S. for $1.2 billion in economic support, $1.8 billion in military aid for upcoming fiscal year [MET 5/23].

Other Countries: Greek court rules that U.S. can extradite Muhammad Rashid, Palestinian suspected of killing American in 1982 hijacking; earlier courts had ruled that Rashid could not be extraditedue to political nature of crime [FBIS 5/12, NYT 5/13]. World Health Organization (WHO) postpones PLO's request for full membership until next year, increases aid to O.T. [NYT 5/13, FJ 5/15].

Occupied Palestine/Israel: In Tulkarm camp troops shoot, kill 8-year-old Palestinian; 7 Palestinians are wounded at funeral. In Sabra troops open fire, kill 16-year-old Palestinian, wound 9 during demonstration. Troops shoot, kill 14-year-old Palestinian in Beach camp. In al-Shaja'iyah 14 Palestinians are wounded during protests [FBIS 4/27, FJ 5/1]. At Ansar 3 guards open fire with rubber bullets, tear gas and wound 5 during protest [FBIS 4/27].

Arab World: According to Beirut radio, IDF, SLA kill 8 Arabs in al-Qawzah [FBIS 4/27].

Arab World: Hadashot reports that Soviet F.M. Shevardnadze told Egyptian parliamentarians that U.S.S.R. would contemplate sanctions against Israel if Israel refuses to talk to PLO, hinders peace process [FBIS 3/17].

Other Countries: U.K. is no longer opposed to creation of Palestinian state in W. Bank, Gaza [FBIS 3/17].

Military Action Occupied Palestine/Israel: In Gaza 4 Palestinians are wounded during clashes [FJ 3/20]. Palestinians kill 2 collaborators in O.T. [NYT 3/18]. Guerrillas cross Jordan River, shoot, kill 1 Israeli soldier; wound another [NYT 3/19].

Occupied Palestine/Israel: O.T.'s trade deficit with Israel is cut by 66% in 1988, according to Bank of Israel UP 2/18]. Curfew is imposed on Tulkarm. Military Action Occupied Palestine/Israel: 14-year-old Palestinian from Rafah dies from wounds received 2/13 [FJ 2/27]. In E. Jerusalem 21-year-old Israeli is stabbed, killed by Palestinian [FBIS 2/21, FJ 2/27]. At least 6 Palestinians are wounded by Israeli troops on W. Bank [FJ 2/27].

Arab World: Israel shells UN peacekeeping patrol in Israeli-imposed security belt in S. Lebanon; 2 Norwegian soldiers are wounded [FBIS 2/21, MET 2/28].
