The PA-Israeli cease-fire implementation begins. The IDF moves tanks out of most PA-controlled areas; moves troops out of Netzarim Junction; reopens major Gaza roads to Palestinian traffic; reopens the Gaza+nEgypt border crossing. In Virginia, Israeli national Shalom Shaphyr pleads guilty to a charge of attempting to export U.S. defense equipment to Israel without a license. Shaphyr attempted to buy restricted video intercept equipment, designed to covertly receive electromagnetic signals fr. computers, fr. an undercover agent. (WP 10/5)
