Meanwhile, the IDF conducts raids in 1 village and Qalandia r.c. nr. Ramallah, arresting 2 Palestinians and sparking clashes in each with stone-throwing Palestinian youths; at least 3 Palestinians are injured. IDF troops violently disperse Palestinians protesting and throwing stones in 1 village each nr. The IDF shoots and kills 5 suspected Palestinian assailants throughout the day as stabbing incidents and the Israeli crackdown continue, particularly in and around Hebron. In the West Bank, an Israeli settler shoots and kills a Palestinian youth in c. Hebron after he allegedly attempts to stab the settler, according to the IDF. IDF troops then raid the home of 2 witnesses, confiscating recording equipment that was used to capture a video of the incident. Later, IDF troops shoot and kill a Palestinian youth after she allegedly stabs an Israeli soldier outside the Kiryat Arba settlement nr. In Cairo, Islamic Jihad’s delegation departs after 6 days of negotiations with the Egyptian authorities on opening the Rafah border crossing. According to sources close to the talks, the Egyptians have agreed in principle to completely open the crossing once the violence in the Sinai Peninsula subsides, the PA unity govt. has staffed the crossing, and Hamas commits to not to interfere in Egyptian affairs. In response to Palestinian youth who were throwing stones and empty bottles at Israeli settlers’ vehicles nr. Nablus, IDF troopssurround a school and fire tear gas into its yard, causing no injuries. Israeli forces deliver stop-work notices in 2 villages nr. Hebron, both of which are outside the Gush Etzion settlement bloc.
