Rulers of the UAE appointed Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan as the new president of the UAE. Mohammed bin Zayed had served as the de facto ruler of the UAE after his half-brother, President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, suffered a stroke in 2014.
