In the West Bank, Israeli settlers assault a Palestinian family near Yatta. Israeli settlers also assault a Palestinian worker constructing an agricultural road near Aqrabah, setting his bulldozer on fire. Elsewhere, Israeli settlers assault a Palestinian man pepper spray in Huwwara. Israeli settlers also set fire to agricultural lands near Nahalin. Israeli forces shoot and kill a Palestinian child and injure 5 others during a raid in al-Fara'a refugee camp. Israeli forces also shoot and kill 4 Palestinians, injure 8 others, and open fire at an ambulance, causing damage, during a raid in Kafr Ni'ma. Hamas says one of its commanders, Mohammed Jaber Abdo, is killed in the raid. Elsewhere, Israeli forces shoot and kill a Palestinian man and injure a child during a raid in Tulkarm. Israeli forces also demolish a residential structure and an irrigation pond in Furush Beit Dajan. Meanwhile, Israeli forces demolish a home in Jaba'. Israeli forces also arrest 30 Palestinians during late-night raids in and around Qalqilya, Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Salfit, Tubas, and Jerusalem. In Gaza, Israeli forces bomb Rafah, Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and Dayr al-Balah, killing at least 40 people. 4 Israeli soldiers are killed and 11 wounded after reportedly entering a booby-trapped building in Rafah. In Lebanon, Israeli forces bomb Aitaroun and Ayta ash Shab. Hezbollah forces shoot down an Israeli drone. More than 37,124 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including at least 15,103 children and 10,000 women, and around 84,712 have been injured since 10/7/2023. At least 7,000 people are missing in rubble, including 1,700 children. 531 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since 10/7/2023, including 128 children. More than 5,100 people have been injured. Israel reports that 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals have been killed and 5,400 have been injured in Israel since 10/7/2023, including Israeli soldiers. In addition, 299 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 1,908 injured in Gaza since the ground invasion began on 10/27/2023. Over 1.93 million Palestinians, nearly 85% of the population of Gaza, have been displaced since 10/7/2023. There has been a complete electricity blackout in Gaza since 10/12/2023 due to the Israeli blockade. The UN Security Council passes a resolution in support of the U.S.-Israeli ceasefire proposal with 14 votes in favor and Russia abstaining. The resolution stipulates that if negotiations between the parties take longer than the 6 weeks of phase one of the ceasefire then that phase will be extended until the negotiations are concluded. It also maintains that there cannot be any changes to the demography and territory of Gaza and supports PA authority over Gaza and the West Bank. Russia says it did not block the resolution because it was supported by the Arab world but criticized the “vague parameters” of the ceasefire proposal. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the PA welcome the resolution. Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders meet in Qatar, discussing the ceasefire. NBC News reports that the U.S. is considering dealing with Hamas unilaterally, through mediators, to reach an agreement to release 5 American citizens held by Hamas if ceasefire negotiations fail. U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken meets with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo, discussing the reopening of the Rafah crossing. Blinken tells the press that it is on Hamas to accept the ceasefire proposal. Blinken later travels to Israel, meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
