Occupied Palestine/Israel: Palestinian shot 2/1 in 'Anabta dies in Tel Aviv hospital. Military authorities extend closure of all W. Bank schools indefinitely [WP, NYT 2/4]. Shopowners continue commercial strike in E. Jerusalem and most of W. Bank and Gaza Strip [FJ 2/7].

Military Action

Occupied Palestine/Israel: In Tulkarm Palestinian is shot to death after allegedly attacking army officer [WP 2/4; FJ 2/7]. Troops use tear gas to disperse Tulkarm crowd demonstrating after rumors that settlers had kidnaped child, broken car windows; curfew is imposed [WP 2/4]. At least 6 are wounded by Israeli gunfire in W. Bank [WP 2/4]. Military seals off 'Anabta after death of woman wounded in clash with troops, settlers 2/1. Nablus and 'Azzah camp are also sealed off [NYT 2/4; FJ 2/14] Military orders 'A'idah camp under curfew following demonstrations. Settlers attack 'A'idah during curfew, clash with residents [FJ 2/7]. Demonstrations are reported throughout Gaza Strip [FJ 2/7].

Occupied Palestine/Israel: "Civil admin." authorities order Hassan 'Abd al-Baqi of Anabta to destroy his cattle farm by 6/15/84 on pretext it is unlicensed. Trial begins of 2 American-Jewish Elon Moreh settlers for shooting death of Nablus girl Aisha Bahash, 11, and wounding of her sister, 9, for alleged stone-throwing (12/8/83). Nablus military court sentences local boy to 3 mos. for stone-throwing. New road built on Shufat, Anabta & Hizma village land opens. In Tel Aviv press conference, Bedouin Civil Rights Assoc. leaders report indiscriminate Green Patrol violence against them, including beating young women and shooting livestock.

Other Countries: Israeli construction company Solel Boneh, active in West Bank, discloses Nigeria owes it $120 million, [40% of Solel Boneh workers are reportedly Palestinian].

Military Action

Occupied Palestine/Israel: Israeli military demolishes homes of 'Abd al-Jalil family in al-Walajeh villages & Abu Rumaishan near Halhoul on pretext they are unlicensed.

Other Countries: US reportedly complains of Israel's alleged transfer of military equipment to Iran.

Political Responses:

Palestinians/ Lebanese: Arafat and Hussein hold third round of talks, Arafat tells news conference he is still committed to Fez summit resolutions, Farouk Kaddoumi says Reagan plan is not a vehicle for negotiation, Abujihad says PLO is not giving a mandate to anyone.

Arab Governments: Mubarak, in Peking, urges PLO and King Hussein to enter talks on Reagan plan soon, before next US election campaign.

US and Other Countries: US diplomats in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem reportedly sceptical of official Israeli explanation of mass illnesses, point to fact that Israelis on West Bank displayed same symptoms.
