IDF troops shoot and injure 2 other Palestinians in alleged car-ramming attempts in Silwan and Ramallah, arresting the suspect in the latter event. The IDF violently disperses Palestinians, Israelis, and international activists at Friday demonstrations against the Israeli occupation in 4 villages nr. Ramallah, 1 each nr. Hebron and Nablus, and 4 areas along Gaza’s border; 2 Palestinians are killed e. of Ramallah and nr. Khan Yunis, respectively, and 37 Palestinians and 2 Israeli soldiers are injured. Meanwhile, the IDF conducts raids and house searches in and around Jenin and Hebron, arresting 1 Palestinian and issuing arrest summons to 2; patrols in 1 village and al-Fawar r.c. nr. A Palestinian is shot and killed in the n. Sinai Peninsula. The Egyptian army says that he was likely killed by Sinai Province of the Islamic State (SPIS) fighters. (MNA 12/19)

In the Nablus area, 1 Palestinian is killed and 2 others injured by Israeli forces throughout the day. First, IDF troops shoot and kill a Palestinian youth at the Hawara checkpoint after he allegedly attempts to stab Israeli soldiers. Later, Israeli soldiers shoot and injure 1 Palestinian youth in Nablus and 1 more in a village nearby. Israeli soldiers assault and arrest a Palestinian in Tulkarm. Meanwhile, the IDF conducts raids in 1 village and Qalandia r.c. nr. Ramallah, arresting 2 Palestinians and sparking clashes in each with stone-throwing Palestinian youths; at least 3 Palestinians are injured. IDF troops violently disperse Palestinians protesting and throwing stones in 1 village each nr. Ramallah and Nablus, and along Gaza’s border nr. al-Bureij r.c.; 5 Palestinians are injured and 1 is arrested. Israeli forces deliver stop-work orders to 5 residential structures under construction nr. Hebron. The IDF cracks down on Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank, and several Palestinians are injured and 2 others are killed during the ensuing clashes. First, the IDF clashes with stone-throwers during a late-night raid in Qalandia r.c. nr. Ramallah, and 2 Palestinian drivers are killed after they allegedly attempt to ram Israeli forces amid the chaos; 4 Palestinians are injured, and 3 Israeli soldiers are lightly injured. Further clashes break out during IDF raids in Dahaysha r.c. nr. Bethlehem, injuring 10 Palestinians. In Israel, a Palestinian armed with a hammer attacks his Jewish Israeli boss and a fellow Palestinian employee at a construction site in Modi’in, injuring both. In Gaza, unknown persons fire a rocket into s. Israel and it lands in an open area, causing no damage or injuries. Holding Hamas responsible, the IAF launches late-night air strikes on 2 Hamas military sites in c. Gaza, causing serious damage but no injuries. E. of Rafah, IDF border troops open fire on Palestinian farmers working nr. the barrier fence, injuring 1. Off the coast nr. Bayt Lahiya, Israeli naval forces open fire on Palestinian fishing boats, causing no damage or injuries. In the West Bank, IDF troops shoot, injure, and arrest a Palestinian youth in c. Hebron after she allegedly attempts to stab an Israeli settler. The IDF conducts late-night raids and house searches in and around Hebron and al-‘Arub r. c., Tulkarm, and 1 village each nr. Nr. Beersheba, Israeli forces demolish bedouin homes in al-‘Araqib for the 91st time since 7/27/2010. The Israeli authorities continue demolishing al-‘Araqib as part of their ongoing effort to make room for Jewish Israeli settlement of the Negev. Around 400 residents remain in the village, using generators and solar panels to subsist without any Israeli infrastructural support. (MNA 11/26)

As Israel continues its crackdown in the oPt, IDF troops kill a total of 3 Palestinians throughout the day. IDF troops shoot and kill a Palestinian youth during clashes sparked by an overnight raid in Qatanna n. of Jerusalem. After the funeral for the Palestinian victim, IDF troops violently disperse stone-throwers and protesters, injuring 5 Palestinians. IDF troops shoot and seriously injure a Palestinian at Tapuach Junction s. of Nablus after he allegedly attempts to stab Israeli settlers. The Palestinian succumbs to his injuries while the IDF is delaying a crew of Palestinian medical technicians access to him, according to witnesses. A 3d Palestinian is killed when stone-throwers clash with Israeli soldiers at an entrance to al-‘Arub r.c. nr. Hebron. Nr. Ramallah, IDF vehicles ram a Palestinian car suspected of avoiding a checkpoint, sparking clashes with stone-throwers; a number of Palestinians are injured and the 3 Palestinians in the car are assaulted and arrested. IDF troops violently clash with Palestinian protesters s. of Hebron, w. of Qalqilya, and at Palestine Technical University in Tulkarm; at least 13 Palestinians are injured. Nr. In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces shoot and injure a Palestinian youth during clashes in Qatanna n. of the city. In the West Bank, IDF troops shoot and injure a Palestinian driver after he allegedly rams his car into a group of Israeli security forces at a junction nr. Nablus, injuring 4. They also violently clash with Palestinian protesters at Palestine Technical University in Tulkarm (the IDF maintains a shooting range close to the university and blocked administrators from building a wall to deter violent protests at the range last mo.), w. of Qalqilya, and outside a settlement nr. Ramallah, injuring 16 Palestinians. The IDF assaults 1 Palestinian and arrest 19 others during raids and house searches in Jenin r.c.; 4 villages, Qaddura r.c., and Qalandia r.c. nr. Ramallah; and 7 villages nr. Hebron. Israeli settlers assault Palestinians picking olives outside Burin village nr. Nablus, causing no major injuries; the settlers then set fire to some of the olive trees. Palestinians throw rocks at an Israeli settler’s car driving nr. Ramallah, causing moderate injuries. U.S. secy. of state John Kerry meets with Israeli PM Netanyahu in Jerusalem to discuss means of quelling the ongoing violence in the oPt among other issues. Kerry reportedly rejects Netanyahu’s request for the U.S. to recognize construction within Israel’s settlement blocs in exchange for Israel undertaking measures to improve the humanitarian situation in the oPt. For the 2d day in a row, IDF troops shoot and kill a 16-year-old Palestinian at Huwwara checkpoint nr. Nablus. The IDF claims that the youth attempted to stab 2 settlers at a bus stop, but a PCHR investigation refutes the allegation; a Palestinian bystander is critically injured by a stray Israeli bullet during the incident (she succumbs to her injuries on 12/16). Shortly afterward, Israeli forces shoot and kill another Palestinian after he attacks a group of Israelis with a knife at a gas station w. of Ramallah, killing an IDF soldier and injuring an Israeli settler (a 2d settler is lightly injured by errant fire). In West Jerusalem, Israeli police open fire on 2 Palestinian youths, killing 1 and injuring the other, after they stab an elderly Palestinian man with scissors nr. a central market (they reportedly mistook him for an Israeli); 1 Israeli bystander is lightly injured. After the incident, Palestinian gunmen affiliated with Fatah’s military wing open fire on Qalandia checkpoint nr. Ramallah, reportedly targeting the area because the Palestinian youth killed in West Jersualem was from Qalandia r.c.; there are no injuries. Jabaliya r.c., Israeli naval forces open fire on Palestinian fishing boats, causing no damage or injuries. IDF troops violently clash with Palestinian protesters and stone-throwers in 2 incidents: along Gaza’s border nr. al-Bureij r.c. and at a university in Tulkarm, w. of Qalqilya; 7 Palestinians are injured (1 seriously). Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Qalqilya, injuring 44 Palestinians. Israel continues closures of Palestinian areas, shutting down the entrances to 4 villages nr. Nablus. In the evening, IDF troops enter a village n. of Hebron, clashing with stone-throwers and firing tear gas at them; several Palestinians suffer from tear gas inhalation. Other Israeli troops in the village raid 2 homes, arresting 2 Palestinians and issuing summons to 2 others. The IDF conducts additional raids around Dura nr. In East Jerusalem, Palestinian youths march through Jabal Mukabir in commemoration of the 2 Palestinians who were killed after attacking a West Jerusalem synagogue on 11/18/2014, and Israeli forces violently disperse the demonstration, sparking clashes and injuring 5 Palestinians. Among Israel’s increased closures of Palestinian neighborhoods, Palestinian youths in Silwan protest the new checkpoints and roadblocks in the area. Elsewhere in the area, Israeli forces arrest 2 Palestinians on raids in Wadi al-Juz and n. of the city. In the West Bank, IDF troops arrest a Palestinian youth accused of carrying a knife in c. The IDF also violently disperses Palestinian, Israeli, and international activists at Friday demonstrations against Israel’s occupation and recent attacks in the oPt in 4 villages nr. Ramallah (Bil‘in, Ni‘lin, Silwad, and Nabi Salih) as well as Kafr Qaddum nr. Qalqilya; 1 Palestinian is injured. Late at night, Israeli forces carry out the punitive demolition of 3 homes in Nablus and 2 nr. Ramallah belonging to Palestinians who committed recent attacks on Israelis. Israel’s High Court of Justice rejects petitions calling for the suspension of the govt.’s orders to punitively demolish the Nablus- and Ramallah-area homes of 6 Palestinians accused of recent attacks on Israelis. The court accepts 1 petition, suspending the punitive demolition order for the home of the Palestinian who shot and killed an Israeli settler on 6/29. Palestinian youths throw stones at IDF troops in a village nr. Qalqilya, sparking clashes; 1 Palestinian is injured. Israeli soldiers assault and arrest 3 Palestinian students s. of Nablus. The IDF conducts a series of late-night raids in Hebron, 3 villages and al-‘Arub r.c. nr. Hebron, 1 village each nr. Tulkarm and Bethlehem, in and around Qalqilya, and ‘Ayn al-Sultan r.c. nr. An Israeli security guard shoots and seriously injures a Palestinian woman at the entrance to a settlement nr. Bethlehem after she stabs and lightly injures him. The IDF then raids several homes in Dahaysha r.c. nr. Bethlehem, sparking clashes with stone-throwing Palestinian youths; there are no serious injuries. IDF troops surround a mosque in c. Hebron, sparking clashes with Palestinians after they finish praying inside; 8 Palestinians are injured. Also in the city, a Palestinian shoots and injures an Israeli settler n. of Hebron, and another Palestinian shoots and injures 2 Israelis nr. al-Ibrahimi Mosque. Several Jewish Israelis assault and detain him as he attempts to flee, including 1 Israeli driver who rams the man with his vehicle. An Israeli man attacks a Palestinian citizen of Israel in Netanya, lightly injuring him. In Kiryat Ata nr. Haifa, a Jewish Israeli stabs and moderately injures another Jewish Israeli, mistakenly identifying him as a Palestinian. Following the morning’s attacks, Israel’s security cabinet meets and decides not to return the bodies of Palestinians shot and killed by Israeli forces after carrying out attacks on Israeli citizens. Instead of returning the bodies to their families, they will bury them secretly. The cabinet also decides to revoke the residency status of Palestinian attackers, bar any homes punitively demolished from being rebuilt, and allow the police to “impose a closure on, or to surround, centers of friction and incitement in Jerusalem, in accordance with security considerations”. Following the killing, clashes break out in the surrounding area and Israeli forces conduct raids throughout East Jerusalem. In total, 21 Palestinians and 1 Lebanese journalist are injured and at least 22 Palestinians are arrested. Around 100 right-wing Jewish activists tour Haram al-Sharif on the last day of Sukkoth. The holiday and corresponding restrictions on Palestinian access at Haram al-Sharif (announced 9/27) end this evening. Protesting the recent Israeli violations at Haram al-Sharif, Palestinian shop owners across the Old City and East Jerusalem shutter their businesses. Later, the Israeli police announce a 48-hour ban on Palestinian entry to the Old City: Only Israeli citizens, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship, and tourists will be allowed access.
